Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Doris. Originally from Kenai, I just bought a home in the Valley and am looking forward to exploring life up here. I graduated with honors from the Therapeutic Massage Program ACC in 2021. Right after graduation I became NCTMB certified and have held these extra credentials since. Prior to that I was a Medical Assistant/ Diabetes Educator for many years working Family Medicine or Pain Management clinics on the Peninsula.

I specialize in medical massage. In addition to Swedish Massage, I am trained to do specific massages that are aimed at reducing pain and increasing range of motion thereby improving quality of life. I use myofascial techniques along with integrated manual therapy techniques. I go about relaxation from a different route but it is effective.

I have plenty of experience with all ages and complicated medical conditions to include among the many conditions; scar work, pregnancy, and pre/post op. I specialize in neck and shoulder issues but really I can address the whole body including intraoral massages for TMJ. Head to toe, I got you. My pressure can go from light to super deep, I am known for my deep tissue/pressure massage. I do hope to offer cupping, guasha, wooden tools, essential oils, and hot stones among my manual therapy.

My passion is serving people and helping people heal themselves. I do a fair amount of education and love feedback during a massage. I will ask all the questions so please be patient, as it will make the massage more effective and provides a higher standard of care that I love providing.

Dr. Ralf Schurmann, DC

Dr. Ralf was born and raised in Germany but spent much of his childhood and high school years in Wisconsin. In 1997, a motorcycle accident left him with severe headaches and neck pain, leading him to seek chiropractic care. The fast and effective relief he experienced sparked a passion for the field and a lifelong commitment to helping others through chiropractic.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse before enrolling at the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2001. He graduated with high honors in 2004 and began his career in Wisconsin. Drawn to the mountains and the outdoor lifestyle, Dr. Ralf went on to practice in Montana, Arizona, and Idaho for the next 17 years.

In 2023, he and his wife, Caroline, briefly returned to Wisconsin—but their hearts remained in the mountains. In 2024, they fulfilled a lifelong dream of relocating to Alaska, where they have fully embraced the adventurous lifestyle.
